About
August 16th, 2006
I grew up in the country, outside of a small town in northern Minnesota where meat or fish, potatoes and a vegetable composed every dinner.
I was lucky enough to grow up in a family that valued family dinners every night of the week. To this day, when I visit my family we always eat meals together. It’s one of the best ways to socialize and learn about each other.
Those values set the foundation for one of my passions: food. Sitting around the dinner table every night develops a bond. The food may only be the catalyst for that bond, but the better the food, the better the bond
As I strayed from home, my love of food went beyond meat, potatoes and a vegetable. There are so many options! I feel like a chemist composing the right formula — and that is exhilarating.
The more I cook, the more the idea of the kitchen as the center of the house solidifies. I’m sure you’ve been to a house party or to a friend’s house for dinner and where do people gravitate to? The kitchen – even if no one is cooking in there. That is what I love about food, cooking, etc.
So with this blog, I bring my love of cooking, dining, and enjoying friends to you.
